Facial Surgery Shift: More Men Treated

In recent years, women have been trending toward minimally invasive cosmetic treatments such as Botox and Restalyne, however, the fastest-growing cosmetic procedures for men are surgical. For men, liposuction tops the list of most common cosmetic surgical procedures, followed by rhinoplasty, eyelid surgery, male breast reduction and face-lifts. A combination of medical, technological, economic and societal factors is thought to be contributing to the increase. The largest driver of the trend is really the fact that a large portion of the male population is aging.

We have seen more and more men coming in for treatments. If you are interested in learning about treatment options for men, please contact us to book a consultation.

When Are You Ready for a Facelift?

There's a simple way to tell. Place your hands along the middle part of your jaw with your index fingers pointing upward and thumbs under the jaw and pull gently toward your ears. If you like the "taught" result, then you may be a candidate for a facelift.

Essentially the face ages in 5 ways:

  • drooping tissue from loss of elasticity
  • effects of gravity
  • changes in the skin such as wrinkles and pigment changes
  • volume loss and dynamic lines from overactive muscles

A facelift is really a blanket term for a variety of procedures. You can learn more about this procedure on our website. If you are interested in learning about facial treatment options like this, please contact us to book a consultation.

Fall is a Season of Subtle Changes...

I have just returned from the Annual American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery autumn meeting in San Francisco. There I attended a variety of lectures and panels on all aspects of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. This meeting focused on the steady progress of non-surgical cosmetic procedures. These treatments are evolving to a point where many patients can reap the benefits of facial rejuvenation non-surgically. In this regard, I am sending you two new options that provide natural results with limited invasiveness. I look forward to discussing these and other available treatment options with you at your convenience.

Enjoy the beauty of life and be well.
